Pouring water on Boeli's poison, spending 1.4 trillion won in a year and getting nothing in return

Chelsea certainly has the backing of American billionaire Todd Boeli, but it's not paying off on the pitch.

The Blues lost their 2023/2024 English Premier League (EPL) second-leg match against West Ham United, 1-3, at the London Stadium in London, England, at 3:00 a.m. ET on April 21.

The defeat was shocking, especially as Moises Caseiro, a €116 million signing, conceded a penalty and was disappointing with his lackluster performance.

Chelsea have invested heavily in their squad since the arrival of Conte in the summer of 2022. From Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling, and Mark Cucurella in the summer of 2022, to Enzo Fernandez and Mikhail Mourinho in January, to Christopher N'Kunku and Casseido this summer, the Blues have spent big.

Boeli's transfer budget for the year was €999.6 million, which is close to €1 billion.

But the return has been disastrous. The club finished 12th in the league last season. The money was wasted.

This season has also been shaky 토토 from the start. They have failed to win their first game with a draw and a loss, and Nkunkwo, their only top option, is out for the long haul with a knee injury.

At this rate, Chelsea could be pouring water on a poisoned chalice this season. It will be interesting to see if Conte's bold investment pays off this season.
